"Scary Guy": The New Face of Love
11:14 AM

Back during my Needled.com days, I profiled a former tattooist--now "the new face of love"--who calls himself The Scary Guy. He's a pretty scary looking dude.

Wanting to spread a little love myself, I thought I'd share more on this man who has made it his life's mission to combat hate, stereotypes, and violence through speaking engagements and media appearances around the world. The video above is one TV show he did a few years ago in the UK that gives you a good idea just how he goes about accomplishing this mission.

Scary Guy particularly speaks at schools and even offers a sample curriculum to teachers on combating prejudice, but he also does corporate events that focus on ridding oneself of negative energy.

Being heavily tattooed, and one would say aggressively so with the work he has, he's used his looks to fight appearance-based discrimination rather than enforce it. Rock on, Scary Guy!

Wow, his message is really awesome and I think what he realized about himself masking hostility behind humor is really quite widespread amongst people of all appearances, especially those who are quite intelligent but maybe wounded and acting out. I like that he posits "hatorade" not as an us-them situation but a social ill contributed to by everyone not actively disengaging from it.

Great shtick, great message, Scary Guy.

I like how he shaves his head and beard to match the contour of his tattoos.

very cool
he & Mr.T need to team-up!!

ROCK ON, THANKS FOR THE COVER.
LOVE TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!
