We have our contest winners for the fabulous children's book that teaches tattoo acceptance and appreciation, "Daddy Has a Tattoo." by Phil Padwe. I took the names of all those who posted on our FB Needles & Sins Syndicate Group and hit me up via @NeedlesandSins on Twitter, then plugged them into Randomized.com, and here's the result:
Congrats, Mick Ddmc from Dublin, Ireland and Beth [@killerbea9] from Ohio!
Even if you didn't win, you can buy "Daddy Has a Tattoo" on Amazon for $11.95 and pick up "Mommy Has a Tattoo" on Amazon as well for $10.95.
There's a great feature in today's NY Daily News on our friend Phil Padwe and his latest children's book, which teaches tattoo acceptance, "Daddy Has a Tattoo."
After the success of his "Mommy Has a Tattoo," many tattooed fathers said, "Hey, what about me?" and so Phil obliged with this new release. As Phil tells the Daily News, the book isn't heavy handed or trying to push a moral lesson, and he's "certainly not preaching that a child should get tattooed!" Instead, it's a lighthearted story with bold and fun illustrations. Here's how it's described:
James is a toddler who loves his daddy's tattoo, and Polly is a little girl who loves parrots! Together they use their imaginations to try to solve a mystery! The story encourages imagination and teaches that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover... not when it comes to tattoos! You can buy "Daddy Has a Tattoo" on Amazon, but before you do, Phil is giving away two copies to two lucky N+S readers, just as he did with his "Tattoo Coloring Book" this summer.
We'll play it like we usually do: Two winners will be selected randomly from those who comment -- any love note will do -- on this post in our Needles & Sins Syndicate Group on Facebook or hitting up @NeedlesandSins on Twitter. On December 5th, we'll put all the names of the commenters into Randomized.com will pick the winners.
On August 3rd, we posted on our latest contest where three readers would be chosen to receive Phil Padwe's "Tattoo Coloring Book #2." As promised, I just plugged in the names of those who hit me up @NeedlesandSins on Twitter and commented in Needles & Sins Syndicate Group on Facebook.
The winners are Justin Duclos, Nathalie Williams, Lauren Doczi Granger. Congrats!
For those who didn't win this time, you can still pick up the book at numerous conventions for $10 and for $15 online. Also keep an eye out for Phil's upcoming "Daddy Has a Tattoo" book.
I got another contest coming up very soon. I like to give y'all free things to thank you for supporting the site. And, of course, many thanks to those who donate all items to give away.
Got another contest for ya -- or rather, for a budding little artist in your life: Phil Padwe's "Tattoo Coloring Book #2."
Phil, who created the classic "Mommy Has a Tattoo" and "Tattoo Coloring Book 1", is offering the new coloring book to three N+S readers. Phil describes the new coloring book as having "much more advanced illustrations and flash designs than the original coloring book, and therefore Tattoo Coloring Book #2 is suited for older children, adults, and even apprenticing tattooists who want to perfect their coloring techniques using colored pencils! These pages are bone-white, and no expense was spared to produce the crisp, sharp, designs on rugged, white pages."
We'll play it like we usually do: Three winners will be selected randomly from those who comment -- any love note will do -- on this post in our Needles & Sins Syndicate Group on Facebook or hitting up @NeedlesandSins on Twitter. On August 13th, we'll put all the names of the commenters into Randomized.com will pick the winners.
You can also pick up the book at numerous conventions for $10 and for $15 online.
Phil is currently working on "Daddy Has a Tattoo." I'm hoping he follows that up "My Daughter Has a Tattoo and I Must Deal With It" -- sure to be a best seller in my Greek-American community.
Our friend Phil Padwe - the talented illustrator who gave us the delightful children's book, Mommy Has A Tattoo - has launched a kickstarter project to help fund his latest work, the follow-up to Tattoo Coloring Book 1. I'm a big fan of this kind of crowd-sourced funding, so break out your credit card so the rest of us can break out the Crayolas!
(And for a pledge of $25 or more, he'll send you - or your child - a hand drawn card on your birthday!)
